Board of Review Responsibilities include:
A Michigan Board of Review member is a citizen appointed position responsible for reviewing property tax assessments within a municipality, hearing appeals from property owners who disagree with their assessed value, and making decisions to adjust assessments based on evidence presented, all while adhering to state laws and guidelines; essentially acting as a quasi-judicial body to ensure fairness in property taxation within the community. Board of Review has two mandatory meetings in March of every year with a possible meeting in July or December if there is business to conduct.
