Heating Help During Winter Months

Winter weather has officially arrived.  If you or someone you know are in need of heating assistance, here are some local resources:

• Dial 2-1-1: Call 2-1-1 or visit Mi211.org to connect with local agencies that can help with utility bills, emergencies, and other services.
• Michigan State Emergency Relief (SER): Contact the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to see if you qualify for the SER program, which can help with utility bills during an emergency.
• LIHEAP: Apply for the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program through your state to get help with heating bills and potential energy-related crises.
• WAP: The Weatherization Assistance Program can help make energy-saving home improvements if you meet income requirements.
