A Note to Our Residents

In these unusual times, we are so proud at the kindness and strength of our community.

We want to remind everyone that our free little library and pantry are available 24/7. Need something new to read? Grab a book or two. Have a stack you already read? Leave them for someone else to enjoy. Running low on groceries? We are doing our best to keep the pantry stocked with food staples and canned goods. Cupboards overflowing? Leave some non-perishables to help your neighbors in need.

Please check in with elderly residents. It’s extra important to look out for one another and know there are people around us that care. Stay safe and calm as precautions are put in place.

If anyone needs or knows of someone that needs food, we can arrange a porch drop off.

Volunteers Wanted!

Do you need some exercise and fresh air?

We can use your help! There are old cabins at Hayes Township Camp Seagull that need to come down, and with team work and a little muscle, we can get them dismantled and removed.

If you would be willing to help us clean these up over the course of a few weeks, please contact us at (231) 547-6961, or e-mail at treasurer@hayestownshipmi.gov. We will provide lunch and drinks for all participants.

Special Board Meeting

There will be A Board of Trustees Special meeting on January 29, 2020 at 12:00 pm at the Hayes Township Hall

The meeting will cover the following two items:

1. Set BOR dates for 2020
2. Resolutions for 2 millage grant applications

Helping Hands

Thanks to the amazing generosity of Hayes Township residents, our free little pantry has overflowed into the township hall.  In addition to the food in the outdoor pantry, inside we have toiletries, canned goods, baking supplies, cereal, rice, mac & cheese and many other items available.
If you or someone you know is in need of any of these items, please feel free to come in and load a few bags up.  The office is open on Monday 9-12, Tuesday 8:30-12, Wednesday 8:30-4, and Thursday 8:30-12.
We are also more than happy to deliver things to anyone who is unable to come out.  Just give Julie or Kristin a call at (231)547-6961and we will bring whatever you need to you.
