If you were affected by the recent storm and need assistance or want to volunteer to help those affected, contact 2-1-1 ( Michigan Community Service Commission).
Charlevoix County Emergency Management is currently conducting damage assessments.
Damage must be to your primary residence and must include structural damage to qualify for FEMA consideration.
Report your storm damageyour smartphone, tablet, or computer:
Examples of damage that may qualify for FEMA assistance:
-Collapsed walls or roof
-Significant foundation damage
-Major damage making the home uninhabitable
-Destroyed heating, electrical, or water systems
-Debris causing significant access issues or safety hazards
Be prepared to provide photos and details when submitting the survey.
If you live within the City of Charlevoix, you may also contact the Charlevoix Police Department at 231-547-3258 for assistance completing the damage assessment survey.
Brush Cleanup:The City of Charlevoix will have additional brush cleanup and chipping crews starting today. Please place your brush at the roadside as soon as possible for pickup. Please be patient, as this is going to be a long process.
Safety Reminder:As you’re cleaning up, if you come across any downed wires, assume they are live power lines and call 9-1-1 immediately. Please do not attempt to move or touch them.
